Pictures at the Pinewood Derby

Udine just gave me these pictures off of his phone from Diego's races. Not the best quality, but better than nothing.

Pinewood Derby

This was Diego's first year participating in the pinewood derby. He made a "black widow" car and it did great!! He won 3 of the 4 races!! Way to go Diego and Udine! He had a blast!! They gave him a certificate for "best artwork" on the car. It was a great night and he had a good time. I forgot my camera so I don't have pictures of Diego with the car or racing it. :(

Of course since Diego was making a car Alessandro really wanted to. So we let him make a car but obviously he couldn't race it. He made a "bumble bee" car and has had a lot of fun with it.

On a totally different subject....

Luca is finally in a big boy bed!! Yes, I know. I wait forever to take my kids out of a crib, but I figured since he was crawling in and out of it, it was time to move him. He is loving it! :)

Also...
Mia is starting to walk! Woohoo! She still crawls most of the time, but she sure is trying hard to get the walking down. She can walk about 10 steps and she has so much fun trying.

Labor Day

We didn't have anything planned for Labor Day this year so we decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was just perfect. The monkey's were howling, the bears were wrestling, the penguins were swimming and we got to see the baby snow leopard. We love going to the zoo!!

1 Year Pictures

I have Mia's "official" one year pictures now. She was teary eyed the entire time and wasn't giving very good smiles, but I think they still turned out cute.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt

Now that Mia is a little older and can get around more Luca thinks it is fun to have wrestling matches with her. It usually starts with both participants happy and enjoying it but it always ends with tears. I had fun watching them today and had to take some pictures.

He can dish it but he definately can't take it!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Peter, Amanda, Matt, Jamie, Ben, Udine and I took Grandma out for her 79th Birthday. Jana volunteered to watch all the kids so we could make it work...all our schedules were hard to work around. Thanks Jana! We told her she could go anywhere to eat, Peter even tried mentioning a variety of different places, but when it came down to it, it's the same place every time...Sizzler. We always joke that we always go there and wish we could go somewhere else, but when she makes comments like "This was the best day of my life!" you realize it really isn't about where we want to go or what we want. She loves Sizzler and felt special for being taken there and that is really all that matters. Amanda made her one of her favorite cakes (wacky cake) and she was so thrilled when she saw that. We went back to their home afterwards to visit for a while. They were in good spirits and I think they really enjoyed themselves.
